What to Expect

Welcome to Genesis Metro

At Genesis Metro, we are All About People because Jesus is all about people! We aim for you to be known and loved from your very first visit.

We know trying something new can be a challenge, and we’re here to help. Whether you’re new to faith or looking for a church home, you’ll find a place to belong at GM.

We’re so glad you’re here!

Where Do I Go?

When you arrive, park in our First Time Guest Lot, directly in front of the Main Building off Eldorado Parkway. Stop at the Welcome Desk in our Kids or Main Buildings to say hello and receive a gift, and our Connections Team will be ready to help you find your way around.

What Can I Expect?

We offer three identical services at 8:30am, 10am, and 11:30am. If you’re more comfortable with a smaller crowd, we recommend visiting at 8:30am or 11:30am. At each service, you can expect a casual atmosphere, fresh coffee, and friendly faces! Each service lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

In order to preserve the worship environment and minimize distractions, families choosing to have their young children accompany them in the Worship Center are asked to sit in the Family Worship Section. In the event your children become restless, you are asked to exit the Worship Center and make your way to the Family Worship Room adjacent to the Worship Center.

FIRST TIME FAQ

What can I expect as parents of a newborn?

We feature incredible programming for babies – 5th grade, but understand that it may take some time before you’re ready to drop off your newborn. We would love to give you a tour of GM Kids Classrooms, and answer any questions you have. Until then, we feature the following options:

1 – Family Worship Section, close to the exits in order to excuse yourself to feed, walk, or console your baby, if needed.

2 – Family Worship Room, adjacent to the Worship Center, features comfortable seating and low lighting for families with young children who want a more flexible environment while watching the service via broadcast.

What if I have a toddler or preschooler?

GM Kids is a fun, creative, safe place where our babies through 5-year-olds come to worship, build relationships, and experience church community. Our goal is for every child to learn that Jesus loves them and has an incredible plan for their life!

Each classroom is suited to the specific needs of each stage, offering age-appropriate worship and teaching.

When you check your preschooler in for the first time, our Welcome Team will host you to your child’s classroom, introduce you to their teacher, and explain our safety features and pick-up procedures.

Should you choose to have your toddler accompany you in the Worship Center, you will be asked to sit in our Family Worship Section. If your child becomes restless at any time, we ask that you exit the Worship Center and make your way to the Family Worship Room to minimize distractions.

What if I have elementary-aged children?

GM Kids Elementary is a place where kids can be kids and learn about God in a fun, creative and engaging way.

During free time, your elementary-aged child can choose from options including air hockey, ping-pong, giant Connect Four, basketball, creative activities and board games. All free-time activities are supervised & monitored by volunteers.

Worship time takes place in a large room where kids sit by grade with their leaders and friends. They engage in high-energy worship, hear a creative, age-appropriate lesson from a live teacher, and participate in Memory Verse Madness where they compete in games to learn God’s Word.

Small Groups are organized by grade where leaders are intentional, reviewing the lesson from that day and discussing how to apply God’s Word to our lives. Group leaders are experts at navigating each age group and how to tailor their questions to every grade and age. Leaders are consistent and take time to get to know each child and what is going on in their life!

Should you choose to have your child accompany you in the Worship Center, you will be asked to sit in our Family Worship Section. If your child becomes restless at any time, we ask that you exit the Worship Center and make your way to the Family Worship Room to minimize distractions.

What if I am a parent of a Student (6th-12th grade)?

On Sundays, Students enjoy the Worship Service, which features dynamic worship and impactful messages. Many of our Students sit together in the far right section of the Worship Center.

6th-12th graders are invited to Fuse Students on Wednesdays at 6:30pm for creative and unique experience created just for them. Teens and pre-teens enjoy worship, messaging and small groups that will impact their daily lives, providing godly relationships with their leaders and peers, drawing them closer to God.

Contact our Fuse Team at students@genesismetro.org.

What if I'm a Young Adult?

Genesis Metro has a thriving Young Adult community that worships together on Sundays and gathers for their own service & events on Tuesday evenings at 7pm.

If you’re between 18 – 30(ish), we have a place for you! Stop by the YA Connections Area on Sundays, in the Main Building adjacent to the Welcome Desk. Meet other people your age, and even find someone to sit with!

Contact our YA Team at ya@genesismetro.org.

What if I'm an Empty Nester?

We have GM Groups for every person, every age, and every stage!

We were created to live life in community, and we believe we are truly Better Together. LifeGroups, Interest Groups, Study Groups, and Support Groups are offered throughout the year to provide opportunities to grow in our relationship with God, the church and each other.
